From June 6-8, 2017, our New Mexico Geochronology Research Laboratory hosted 35 geochronologists from 7 countries to discuss multiple topics that impact radiometric dating of rock samples and noble gas measurements.
Day 1 Focus: Sustainable software for isotope measurement and data reduction. Showcasing “PyChron” a software developed by Dr. Jake Ross at the New Mexico Bureau of Geology.
Day 2 Focus: Best practices in laboratory design, data acquisition and data reduction towards fully utilizing ultra-high precision measurements to solve complex geological problems. Discussion leaders Drs. Matt Heizler, William McIntosh and Jake Ross. Day3: Wrap up and interactive software and data presentation.
