Bulletin-14—Some New Mexico Fusulinidae

By C. E. Needham, 1937, 88 pp., 1 fig., 12 plates.

This bulletin describes the fusulinid fauna in Pennsylvanian and Permian formations of New Mexico. Because of their wide distribution, occurrence in vast numbers throughout great thicknesses of strata, and high specialization, they become valuable index fossils. The species and even the genera of this family have short stratigraphic ranges as compared with most of the common Pennyslvanian and Permian invertebrates. Therefore, they are probably the most reliable of any group for late Paleozoic correlation.
