Open-file Reports

We accept manuscripts from within and outside the bureau for open-file report status (see submission guidelines). Manuscripts are reviewed before acceptance but do not receive the editorial and graphic support of our other publications. Open-file reports, excluding the Argon Open-file (OF-AR) and the Open-file Geologic Map series (OF-GM), are made available in electronic format only.

You can obtain all our open-files for free via by either following the hyperlinks from the report list or you can browse the files directly either via HTTP or FTP:

• Via HTTP: (using the links on the report titles below) with a web browser
  (Note: some of these reports contain many related files and are intended to be run from a CD-ROM or a directory on your computer. In those cases, download via FTP is preferrable.)
• Via anonymous FTP ( ftp://geoinfo.nmt.edu/Open-file_Reports/ ) with an FTP client.

Purchasing:

If your internet connection is slow, you may want to purchase Open-files (generally on CD ROM) at a nominal cost of $10 each + postage & handling.

These reports are subject to frequent revisions and may be unavailable when being revised.
