Frequently-anticipated questions:

What does this data set describe?

    Title: ProducingAreas
    Abstract:
Polygons outlining areas of coalbed methane plays in the Raton Basin as of 11/2003.
    Supplemental_Information:
Polygons were constructed by applying a buffer of 0.5 mi from each producing well in the two areas developed by El Paso. The well locations are in the ColfaxCBM database. From the buffer layer, the polygons were drawn to encompass the buffer areas.

  1. How should this data set be cited?

Why was the data set created?

Polygons were developed to encompass all producing wells in the two areas developed by El Paso for coalbed methane production. The production data encompasses data in the database as of 4/2004. The last month of production in the database is for 12/03.

How was the data set created?

  1. From what previous works were the data drawn?

  2. How were the data generated, processed, and modified?

    (process 1 of 1)

Data sources used in this process:

    • C:\DOCUME~1\gretchen\LOCALS~1\Temp\xml1EDA.tmp

How reliable are the data; what problems remain in the data set?

  1. How well have the observations been checked?

  2. How accurate are the geographic locations?

  3. How accurate are the heights or depths?

  4. Where are the gaps in the data? What is missing?

  5. How consistent are the relationships among the observations, including topology?

How can someone get a copy of the data set?

Are there legal restrictions on access or use of the data?

Access_Constraints: All data is available in the database
Use_Constraints:
This layer should be used in conjunction with the well dataset - PRODUCIN.dbf. This data set represents the producing wells as of the end of 2003.
