For Structure map of the Robledo Mountain area: Image nmsuscans004 Purpose: to use the scanned (nmsuscans004) image for further use in structural mapping analysis. Using registering and rectifying techniques so image will be set orthographically to the Digital Raster Gragics(DRG) of the same area, which are orthographically correct. methodology: Scanned Image, using High precision Roll feed scanner at 400dpi, to obtain a digital file, then registered and orthorectified the digital file to fit the needs of the project. after scanning:Using ArcInfo and using the arctool's command tools the following processes were accopmlished. *Registering the image(nmsuscans004): This is done by opening the edit pull down menu and selecting images and then selecting register.Right click in the input area and selecte the nmsuscans004 image. Choose the map 4 coverage using its tics. Then perform the registration of the image, setting the distance betwen the images location where the tic marks should be and the actual location of the tic marks. After this was one I saved transformation and started the rectifying process. *rectifying the image (nmsuscans004): On the Command tools menu bar choose the edit pull down menu, then under images choose rectify. Insert the Input image then insert the name of the output image, then rectify the image. This is done so the image lines up correctly to the DRG and the set Tic marks of the base map the data is derived. Final: After the registering and rectifying processes were performed a number of times, the closest we could obtain the image to its actual spatial location was with an error at its greatest skew was 15 meters
