TULAROSA BASIN

AMP hydrogeologic studies began in the northeastern Tularosa Basin in summer 2009. Additional project funding will allow AMP staff to produce a comprehensive hydrogeologic report includ-ing high-resolution northern and southern region geologic compilation maps, a regional water-table map, and evaluation of water quality and groundwater age. Using these data, we will provide estimates of mountain-front recharge. Reports, data release, and maps are expected in June 2014.
Funded by the New Mexico State Legislature through Otero SWCD, the Bureau of Geology, and the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (STATEMAP).
