AMP hydrogeologic studies began in the northeastern Tularosa Basin in summer 2009. This project will produce ARCGIS maps of the area’s geology, water-table surface, depth-to-water and water quality, and estimates of mountain-front recharge. These data will provide hydrologists, water users and communities with much-needed information on the area’s groundwater resources. Data releases are anticipated in 2012.

Funded by the New Mexico State Legislature through Otero SWCD and the Bureau of Geology STATEMAP program.
