Channeled sandstones in the type section of the Lower Permian Abo Formation. These
redbeds are largely nonmarine and contain numerous subaerial exposure surfaces with soil
horizons. Outcrop along U.S. Highway 60 at Abo (west of Mountainair), New Mexico.
