Polished slab of pisolitic dolomite from the uppermost Yates Formation. Note reverse grading
of grains, and "fitted fabric" in which grains have interlocked boundaries produced by
compromise growth of outer coatings. Sample from roadside outcrop at "hairpin turn"
on New Mexico Highway 7 in Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Eddy Co., NM.
