
Graded turbidite of carbonate packstone to wackestone in the lower slope
facies of the Capitan
Formation. Constituent grains are mainly slope-dwelling organisms (brachiopods,
bryozoans,
echinoderms), many of which have been replaced by authigenic silica. Sample
from Permian
Reef trail on north wall of McKittrick Canyon, Guadalupe Mountains National
Park,
Culberson Co., TX. Coin is 2.4 cm in diameter.
