Isopach map showing thickness of sands in the lower Cherry Canyon Fm.
Note channelized and
lobate forms of sand deposits and the presence of numerous entry points around
the basin
margin. This is interpreted to indicate wide distribution of sands, primarily
by eolian
process on shelves during lowstands, with subsequent influx of those sands
through
numerous "lows" in shelf-margin carbonate deposits of the previous highstand.
