Multiple Surcharges and Overprints on Postal Stationery

An aerogram (air letter sheet) from Abu Dhabi that has an imprinted
stamp depicting an oil derrick — the first-day cancellation shows
issuance on 1 June 1971.


Just one month after its issuance, the aerogram at top was
reissued surcharged with a higher denomination (30 fils).


Within a few more months after issuing, and then revaluing a petroleum-
depicting aerogram, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
became part of the
United Arab Emirates. That led to a second over-printing and
two different surcharged revaluations shown above and below.
