This is one of the most unusual items in petroleum philately — an engraver's presentation
folder with imperforate trial color die proofs of the General Gouvernement's Boryslaw
oil field stamp. Signed by Karl Seizinger, the engraver, and dated 2 May 1944
it is most likely a unique item related to a stamp that is itself very scarce. An
additional example of such a proof folder is
known from the engraver's
estate but it contains five die proofs — the above four plus one
in a brown-violet color.
