Petroleum Stamp Essays and Proofs

A number of special printings exist for stamps from French colonial
(or former French colonial) countries. Shown here are imperforate
copies of the released stamp (above) and a strip of imperforate
color-trial proofs (below). The color-trial proof shows a common
color arrangement for large-size, vertical-format stamps (with one
multicolored stamp at the bottom of the column. These
items have not been scanned in exact sizes — in reality
the individual stamp depictions are all the same size.
