Petroleum Stamp Essays and Proofs

The unique acrylic painting on art-board shown above was used as a preliminary
drawing for the 1965 Egyptian stamp (below) depicting an oil exploration drill
ship and production platform. Because the painting differs slightly from
the final version of the stamp, it technically is termed an essay.
