Artist-signed die proofs of France's Hassi-Messaoud oilfield stamp were
produced in several colors including maroon (above) and black
(shown at the bottom of this page in slightly reduced size).
Because they were pulled from the unhardened steel die,
less than 25 total copies were produced, as verified
by the embossed control seal of that period (shown
below enlarged and contrast-enhanced).
