Gabon's first petro-stamp, shown above, was issued in 1966
and depicts the 4-leg offshore jackup drilling rig "Roger
Butin". Part of a sheet of trial color proofs is depicted
below and shows the mixing of three colors to produce
trial multicolor prints (right-hand stamps that are
very different from the finally selected version.
The pencil notations below the stamps
designate the three ink colors used.
