The actual photographs from which the four vignettes on Tonga's 1988
petro-stamp were produced also have been obtained from the printers'
archives. The quality of some of these pictures, especially
the oil wells and the view of the King pole vaulting in much
earlier days, is rather poor. That is reflected in the quality of
those portions of the final photo-lithographed stamp.
