Linear elements on a geologic map include lithologic and other types of contacts, structural elements like faults and folds, and geologic features best mapped as lines like dikes. Other linear elements on a map are cross section locations, transects, and cartographic elements like map boundaries. Basemap data like topography, hydrography, roads, and political boundaries are beyond the scope of our geologic data model.
