Nick Tenorio joined the Bureau's IT Department after retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard. He started his military career as a U.S. Navy Corpsman in 1992, serving 10 years in variety of operational and support units around the world such as Long Beach, CA, Okinawa, Spain, Key West, FL and Bethesda, MD. After earning his M.S. in IT Management, Nick joined the USCG via the Direct Commission Engineer (DCE) program in 2004, serving as a lead in the Enterprise Architecture Engineering Branch at the Telecommunications and Information Systems Command (TISCOM), Alexandria, Virginia. His next assignment was the Regional Manager and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the short-range maritime communications upgrade project, Rescue 21, at the Project Resident Office in Scottsdale, Arizona. His final assignment was Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT.
