Our mission is to advance the world’s understanding of minerals. has been collecting, organizing, and sharing mineral information since October 2000. Today, an international team of 50 expert managers works to ensure the accuracy of posted data. It has become an essential resource used daily throughout education, academia, and industry sectors.

As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, relies on support from both companies and individuals. is the primary outreach project of the Hudson Institute of Mineralogy.

This presentation will be a round-up of the latest developments on the site (including the public API and the massive reference library) along with a preview of some of these.
