Do We Have Earthquakes in New Mexico?

New Mexico has a low to moderate level of seismicity. Earthquakes larger than magnitude 6, on both the Richter and the more modern Moment Magnitude scales, have occurred here in the historical past, and will likely occur again. We are also increasingly seeing minor earthquakes due to induced seismicity related to petroleum production.
