Scholarships
A number of geoscience-focused scholarships are available to students attending New Mexico colleges and universities:
New Mexico Bureau of Geology & Mineral Resources:
We maintain a list of students the bureau has supported via scholarships, grants, contracts, and laboratory access.
- The Kottlowski/Bureau Fellowship can be applied for by incoming New Mexico Tech Earth and Environmental Science graduate students.
- The Deju Family Bright Star Scholar Program can be applied for by any New Mexico Tech undergraduate.
Other Opportunities:
- The New Mexico Geological Society offers several geoscience scholarships
- The Geological Society of America offers several grants for research and travel
- Students that are making geologic maps as part of their research should consider applying for funding from the USGS administered EDMAP Program (due November 19th -- you can apply online)
- The Forum on the geology of Industrial Minerals offers the Robert L. Bates Memorial Scholarship
