Rockin’ Around New Mexico — A Three-day Geology Workshop for K-12 Teachers

Grants, NM
— July 10 - 12, 2024

Rockin’ is a workshop for certified, NM K–12 teachers who are interested in augmenting their understanding of geoscience. This workshop can be taken for professional development or for New Mexico Tech Master's in Science Teaching graduate credit. This year, we will be based out of Grants, NM and our workshop will explore the importance of critical minerals, the eruptive center of the Zuni Mountains, the New Mexico volcanic hazard assessment, earthquakes— and preparation for geology-related hazards.

No previous geologic experience is necessary, but teachers should be able to walk one mile in arid conditions.
