Image of the Day — Brachiopods in Cienega Canyon

Brachiopods (Neospirfer) in limestone from the Bursum Formation near Cibola Spring on the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge. The Bursum formation here records the transition from a marine to a terrestrial depositional environment.
