Image of the Day — View of Cabezon Peak from the Ojito Wilderness

Cabezon Peak, a volcanic neck, is a distinctive landmark that can be seen from many parts of North-central New Mexico. In the foreground are Cretaceous sandstones and mudstones exposed in a side canyon off Arroyo Bernalillo in the Ojito Wilderness.

The Ojito Wilderness can be accessed via Cabezon Road, which intersects NM-550 just south of San Ysidro, NM.
