Inscription Rock. Inscription Rock Trail, El Morro National Monument, New Mexico. The Rock is mostly composed of Zuni Sandstone, a Jurassic Period (200-145 Ma) sedimentary rock that preserves part of a sand dune field that stretched acoss much of this region approximately 150 Ma.
