New Mexico is known for its vast open spaces showcasing some of the world's most unique landscapes and geologic features. Our state's natural wonders come in all shapes and sizes, but they are all built from a framework at the microscale that is just as awe-inspiring and critical to understanding our geologic past. In this issue of Earth Matters, we’ll zoom in on the very small-scale features of “Micro New Mexico,” uncovering the tiny building blocks that make up some of our state’s greatest natural features and gaining insight into the geologic processes that form our remarkable landscapes.
