Ranchers Exploration and Development Co. Annual Reports 1963-1983

Ranchers Exploration and Development Co. was a mining company incorporated in 1954 and was based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company operated several uranium mines in New Mexico and Utah, the largest of which was the Johnny M uranium mine near Grants in New Mexico. The company also mined copper from its Bluebird mine near Miami, Arizona; placer gold from operations in Alaska, Escalante silver mine in southwestern Utah, and the Revenue Virginius silver mine near Ouray, Colorado. In 1984, Ranchers Exploration and Development Co. merged with Hecla Mining Co. David Fitch donated the annual reports from 1963 to 1983 in order to preserve the history of one of New Mexico’s mining companies.
